NVR vs DVR: Which System Is Right for Your Property?
Both an NVR and a DVR record and store your video — the difference is the cameras they use and how the video travels. A DVR works with coax-cabled analog or HD-over-coax cameras and is often the budget-friendly choice when wiring already exists. An NVR works with IP (network) cameras over Ethernet, usually gives sharper detail, supports more advanced features, and is easier to expand later. Neither is automatically “better.” We pick based on your building, your existing cabling, the detail you need, and your budget — and we tell you plainly why.
